Are Healthy People Overweight?

Healthy people are not overweight, even if it is just five pounds.

So if you need to lose some weight, to start with, change your focus. Shift your focus from weight loss to health gain. After all, you can lose weight on any diet program. However, what is the point of being slim and dying from breast cancer, or having a slender body and suffering from arthritis? Excess weight is merely a symptom of poor health, of a body out of balance. It is time to get off the diet merry-go-round (or rather misery-go-round!) and make a real effort to improve the level of your health, and achieve real and permanent change to your weight.

And if you're overweight, you are almost certainly malnourished. Yes, you're getting plenty of calories - too many calories - but not enough nutrition.

When the body is deficient in nutrients, your appetite turns on. But stuffing yourself full of nutrient-deficient calories does nothing to satisfy this hunger, so you keep on eating way past your caloric need. Also, missing even a single nutrient can signal fat storage.

To lose weight and gain health, you must eliminate toxic foods like the "Big Four" (sugar, refined flour, processed oils and dairy/excess animal protein) and "fake foods" full of chemicals. Instead, you must eat a diet of whole, organic, fresh and mostly raw fruits, vegetables, sprouts, seeds, nuts, beans and grains - foods that are both nutrient dense and fiber-rich, so they provide true satisfaction.

Unfortunately today, for a number of reasons, everyday food is no longer enough to provide adequate nutrition. A supplement program is essential, especially anyone dealing with overweight issues.

Consider taking BarleyLife® and BarleyLife® Xtra. The vitamins, minerals and other nutrients in this whole-food supplement can help you with your healthy weight loss and get your body back in balance.
