Genetics and Lifestyle

Is Corn Good For You?

Somehow, corn has managed to enter the American diet disguised as a vegetable. In fact, corn is a grain.

Why does this matter?

Because corn is not only a grain, but an unhealthy one. Corn is the most sugary, starchy, empty grain out there.

Now, an occasional corn on the cob is not going to hurt you. But corn should be consumed on a very limited basis. It's a high-glycemic sugarfest.

Again, corn is not a vegetable, it's a grain.

The worst part is corn is the number one ingredient in just about every processed and fried food.

Because the government subsidizes corn farmers, there is an abundance of cheap corn available - and it is highly profitable.

The fact that corn oil is terrible for you, producing trans fats and no Omega-3's, doesn't seem to matter.

Corn oil, and its trans-fat twin, hydrogenated corn oil, are in everything.

Take a look at just about any food in the middle aisles of your grocery store. Yep, it most likely has corn oil. If it doesn't have corn oil…

Do You Like to Exercise?

If you hate exercise, you're doing it wrong. Find something that works. There are a lot of choices.
