Do You Take Your Health For Granted?

Late last night, after a long drive, my mother and I returned from an out-of-town funeral. A relative had died after being disabled and practically bedridden for ten years. Yet at one time, he was one of the best golfers in the area.

Prior to our trip, we heard about another distant relative had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. His wife had come home to find her husband on the floor unconscious, spitting up blood. The next day, a special medicine was flown in from Philadelphia as part of his treatment.

The cost? Twenty thousand dollars.

Previously, I have written about what happened to my father, who died of cancer after being on oxygen for ten years.

People often do not become health conscious until it's too late. It takes a grim incident like a heart attack before they get serious about their well being. Why delay another day before deciding to take charge of your health?

Don't take your health for granted.

And please take the time to encourage others to do the same.
