Barley Grass Juice - a Wide Spectrum of Potent Nutrients

Research in the late 20th century revealed young barley grass is the most nutritious of the green grasses. While barley has been used as a grain since ancient times, the value of barley as a grass was overlooked.

Japanese researchers discovered young, green barley grass was a complete source of nutrition, containing a wide spectrum of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, proteins, enzymes, chlorophyll, and phytonutrients.

Researchers also discovered young barley is at its nutritional best before the beginning of the reproductive cycle, when the plant channels nutrition to the seed heads. In fact, when harvested at this early stage, young barley leaves have a different nutritional makeup from their adult counterparts.

A dilemma arises when humans try to get nourishment from this nutrient-rich barley grass. The human body is not equipped with the enzymes to break down the fiber in the barley grass. Therefore, without intervention, this nutrition is not bioavailable to the human body.

Chlorophyll and BarleyLife® Xtra

Chlorophyll has been studied for its potential in stimulating tissue growth and in stimulating red blood cells in connection with oxygen supply. A remarkable similarity has been found between chlorophyll and the red pigment in the blood.

According to the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, chlorophyll fed to laboratory animals reduces absorption of three dietary carcinogens: heterocyclic amines (found in cooked muscle meat), polycyclic hydrocarbons (found in smoked and barbecued foods), and aflatoxin (a mold toxin found on peanuts).

The chlorophyll formed complex compounds with the carcinogens while they were in the digestive tract, limiting their bioavailability. The limiting of the bioavailability of alflatoxin has been reinforced in a 2009 human study published in Cancer Prevention Research.

Chlorophyll also removes carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide and has been found to reduce fecal, urinary, and body odor. In addition, it has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. C…

Should You Take Nutritional Supplements?

Vitamins and minerals are vital nutrients for bodily functions and prevention of disease.

There is an archaic argument, "I can get everything I need from food."

Well are you?

In a large study of 26,000 people, it was concluded that not one person received the nutritional requirements set forth by the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA).

Of the U.S. population, 96 percent dies of a disease.

Seven out of ten people die of heart disease, cancer or stroke.

Do you still think we’re getting proper levels of nutrition?

God, The Bible and Wheat

"How can something that the Bible refers to as The Staff of Life be the source of so much modern illness?

Didn't God nourish the Israelites with the bread (manna) from heaven?

Well, according to gluten expert Dr. Thomas O’Bryan, seven out of ten people are sensitive to gluten, the toxic protein found in most grains!

Were the Israelites somehow exempt from gluten's wrath?

Or was the all-knowing God just a little behind on his research?"

The truth is we are not eating the same grains that Moses may have snacked on as he hiked up Mount Sinai.

In fact, we're not even eating the same grains our grandparents ate!

In just a mere fifty years, grains - wheat, in particular - have become a mutant species crafted by the hands of human intervention in the name of increased crop yields, resistance to drought, disease, and heat, as well as an end to world hunger - all of which are honorable causes and tremendous scientific achievements.

However, the accelerated evolution of w…

What Do Vitamins and Minerals Do for You?

Build Your Immune System
Illness and disease are not "caught." One doesn't catch cancer, heart disease or a cold. You allow these ailments to occur when you have a weak immune system, due to nutritional deficiencies.

Increase Your Energy Level
Vitamins and minerals, along with other nutrients, are involved in the release of energy from digested foods. Strong and lasting energy levels are good indicators of healthy nutritional intake.

Enhance Your Appearance
Skin clearness, tone and elasticity; hair strength, thickness and color; fingernail strength, color and texture all depend on vitamins and minerals. Some people look fifty years old at thirty. Some look thirty at fifty. It all depends on the Three Simple Steps to Living Well™.

Expand Your Intelligence
Brain function, ability to concentrate and memory require proper vitamins and mineral levels.

Maintain Optimum Weight Levels
Obesity in the U.S. has reached epidemic levels. Even though they're full, people overeat becau…

The Real Cause of Heart Disease?

"The most common, prevalent outstanding cause for heart disease in the U.S. today is not high cholesterol. It’s too many small LDL particles.

There are only two ways to get small LDL particles. It's either genetically determined or it's carbohydrates.

It's not fat, it's not saturated fats, it's not butter, it's not too much cheese.

It's simply anything that converts to sugar, which will lead to the cascade of events causing the formation of small LDL particles.

It became clear there was something triggering it to extravagant degrees and that was wheat." - Dr. William Davis, M.D., cardiologist

How To Be Satisfied In Life

"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it." - Steve Jobs, Stanford Commencement Address, June 2005

Lose the Wheat, Lose the Weight, and Find Your Path Back to Health

Every day, over 200 million Americans consume food products made of wheat. As a result, over 100 million of them experience some form of adverse health effect, ranging from minor rashes and high blood sugar to the unattractive stomach bulges that preventive cardiologist William Davis calls "wheat bellies." According to Davis, that excess fat has nothing to do with gluttony, sloth, or too much butter: It's due to the whole grain wraps we eat for lunch.

After witnessing over 2,000 patients regain their health after giving up wheat, Davis reached the disturbing conclusion that wheat is the single largest contributor to the nationwide obesity epidemic - and its elimination is key to dramatic weight loss and optimal health. In 'Wheat Belly', Dr. Davis exposes the harmful effects of what is actually a product of genetic tinkering and agribusiness being sold to the American public as "wheat" - and provides readers with a user-friendly, step-by-step …
