Two Year-Old Boy No Longer Constipated

"At two years of age, our baby boy was often sick and in the hospital. Because he couldn't eliminate his bowels very well, the doctor did a colostomy on him. His bottom looked as if it had been burned because of Candida in his body. We had to keep a very strong ointment on him.

After he started taking two teaspoons of BarleyLife Xtra and FloraFood each day, he has been able to eliminate and clean his system out. After using the AIM supplements, we have seen such a difference and he seldom gets sick. He is now 3 years old and such a different child. I think he has enough energy now to make up for all the times he was sick! He now runs and plays like other little children.

We are very thankful to have learned about the AIM nutritional supplements. They have made such a difference in our little son!" - Alvin and Fannie Miller, Frederickstown, Ohio

How to Boost Your Memory

What do RediBeets®, Cocoa LeafGreens®, nuts, seeds, and berries have in common?

Memory boosting power.

Researchers at the Translational Science Center found that giving older adults a daily dose of beet juice helped to increase blood flow to the area of the brain associated with dementia.

In a 25-year Harvard study of more than 13,000 women, participants who ate high amounts of vegetables, especially leafy greens, experienced less age-related decline in memory over the years.

Nuts and seeds - among the most celebrated heart-healthy foods - promote smooth, steady blood flow, which is critical for keeping your memory sharp. Their nutrient claim to fame? Unsaturated fats, which help to improve cholesterol levels and ease inflammation, ensuring a continuous supply of oxygen and nutrients to your think tank.

A 2012 Harvard study found that women who ate at least one cup of blueberries and strawberries per week experienced a sizeable 2.5-year delay in mental decline relative to women w…

National Geographic: Sugar Love

The subject of the August, 2013 issue of National Geographic was Sugar Love (A not so sweet story).

Following are several quotes from the article, written by Rich Cohen:

"Sugar was the oil of its day. The more you tasted, the more you wanted. In 1700 the average Englishman consumed 4 pounds a year. In 1800 the common man ate 18 pounds of sugar. In 1870 that same sweet-toothed bloke was eating 47 pounds annually. Was he satisfied? Of course not! By 1900 he was up to 100 pounds a year. In that span of 30 years, world production of cane and beet sugar exploded from 2.8 million tons a year to 13 million plus. Today the average American consumes 77 pounds of added sugar annually, or more than 22 teaspoons of added sugar a day."

"It seems like every time I study an illness and trace a path to the first cause, I find my way back to sugar.' Richard Johnson, a nephrologist at the University of Colorado Denver, was talking to me in his office in Aurora, Colorado…Why is it that o…

Can Cocoa Help Lower Type 2 Diabetes?

For those with diabetes, the mere thought of chocolate can send their blood sugar soaring.

But a new study published in the Journal of Nutrition found incorporating flavanol-rich cocoa into a healthy diet can significantly lower the incidence of type 2 diabetes.

Spanning over eleven years, the study included 2,915 men and women who were examined every three to four years.

During the third, fourth and fifth examinations, participants were asked to report their frequency of consumption of food items during the past year that contained specific amounts of flavonoids.

The study concluded that for every 2.5 increase in dietary flavanols such as chocolate, tea and berries, there was a 26% lower incidence of type 2 diabetes.

The findings of this study show that flavanol-rich cocoa, as found in dark chocolate, can have significant health benefits.

Three different types of cocoa can be found in Cocoa Leaf Greens™.

"How To Lose Weight and Keep It Off Forever - Without Pills, Shakes or Gimmicks, Using Real Food"

Several years ago, in an interview with Sports Illustrated, Florida State football coach Bobby Bowden gave the following advice about weight loss:

"Before the beginning of every football season, in order to lose weight, I had to cut out the foods that I like - bread, the pasta, the sugar, sweets, potatoes and white-floured foods, and I didn't have any trouble losing weight."

It's hard to lose weight by simply restricting calories.

Eating less - and exercising more - does not automatically cause you to lose weight.

Low-calorie, high-carbohydrate diets creates a series of biochemical signals in your body, taking you out of balance and making it more difficult to access stored body fat for energy.

The result?

You'll reach a weight-loss plateau, beyond which you simply cannot lose any more weight.

Diets based on choice restriction and calorie limits usually fail.

People on restrictive diets get tired of feeling deprived and hungry. They go off their diet, put the wei…

Harvard: The Whys of Rising Obesity

Walter Willett and his panel of experts from the Harvard School of Public Healthsay the manipulative marketing of "junk food" to kids from the food industry is the biggest problem regarding the obesity rates among children.

They also say eating in front of the television, modern technology that takes up to seven hours of the day and the modern American diet have also led to the rising obesity rates.

They blame increased portion sizes (calories) and sugary beverages as the main culprits, but they acknowledge the rise in the consumption of carbohydrates as a key reason for increasing obesity.

Gyms, Exercise and Other Stuff by Tom Naughton

"When the episode of 'The Men Who Made Us Thin' recounted the aerobics/Jane Fonda craze, it occurred to me that waaaay back in the day, I did some bits on those topics in my standup act. So I dug out a box of tapes and found an old Hi-8 tape from the 1990s.

Fortunately, I also found my old Hi-8 analog camcorder in the attic and was able to transfer from the Hi-8 to a digital camcorder and then to my Mac.

Since the exercise bits were short, I included few minutes on other topics as well. (As was usually the case when recording in a crowded club, you’ll see some good close-ups of a waitress’ head.)" - Tom Naughton, former stand up comedian, health blogger and creator of the documentary, 'Fat Head'

"Microwave And The Risk Of Cancer?" by Dr. Janey Little

"The ubiquitous microwave oven, loved for its convenience in defrosting, reheating and preparing meals in a matter of minutes, may not be quite the indispensable kitchen asset you once thought.

Based on an alternating current, the microwave oven creates an electromagnetic radiation that forces the atoms, molecules and cells within the food to reverse polarity over a billion times per second. This remarkably high frequency creates an oscillating action of the molecules within the food and the high friction created as a result is the reason why microwave ovens can so quickly generate heat in food.

However, the cells and molecules within food are delicate and cannot withstand this violent force. As a result, the food molecules are torn apart and rearranged into new chemical compositions that are foreign to the human body.

Unable to recognize these new configurations or radiolytic products (unknown fusions, not found in nature and resulting from radiation) that are created as a result …
