Three Brain-Boosting Nutrients

Try these three ways to super-charge your brain:

1. Beets - (RediBeets®) - Beets increase nitric oxide, which improves blood flow. Your brain needs good blood flow to function optimally.

A study looked at brain scans of people before and after they drank beet juice. The post-beverage scans showed an increase in circulation to the white matter in the frontal lobes of the brain. This part of the brain is often damaged in people with dementia.

2. Carrots - (Just Carrots®) - We all know carrots are good for our eyes. However, carrot juice is also great for your brain. Like other colored vegetables, carrots are high in beta-carotene, an antioxidant that reduces inflammation, which is a factor in brain deterioration.

3. Cocoa - (CoCoa LeafGreens™) - A Harvard/Brigham and Women's Hospital study found adults who drank two cups of cocoa every day did better on memory tests than those who did not drink it. The flavanols in cocoa relax blood vessels and help reduce blood pressure. High blood p…

Energy Drinks Linked To Unhealthy Behaviors in Teenagers

A new study out of Duke University and published in the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior, links sports and energy drinks to poor health decisions in adolescents.

Sports drinks were "significantly associated" with increased television viewing, while energy drinks were linked to "additional hours per week" of playing video games.

Smoking was also found to be linked to the consumption of energy drinks.
The AAP (American Association of Pediatrics) asserts that energy drinks, meanwhile, should not be consumed as they offer no health benefits and increase risks for overstimulation of the nervous system. Why not consider BarleyLife® Xtra, Peak Endurance® and Red Rush™ as healthy alternatives to sugary sports and energy drinks?

Run Sprints to Lose Belly Fat Faster

Sprinting, not jogging, helps men lose harmful belly fat faster, scientists in Sydney found.

Eight-second bursts of sprinting on an exercise bike repeated intermittently for 20 minutes helped overweight men lose 2 kilograms (4 pounds) of body fat over 12 weeks, researchers at the University of New South Wales said today.

Importantly, there was a 17 percent reduction in fat stored around their liver, kidneys and other internal organs that is associated with an increased risk for cardiovascular disease." - Jason Gale of Bloomberg

P.S. High-intensity exertion may result in greater fat loss than less vigorous forms of exercise such as jogging. - Journal of Obesity

Do Fruits and Vegetables Reduce the Risk of Stroke?

New research by the American Heart Association has found the risk of stroke decreased by thirty-two percent for every two hundred grams of fruit consumed per day.

That same analysis found the same amount of vegetables decreased stroke risk by eleven percent.

It was unclear if these effects were cumulative.

In high-income countries, the risk of stroke has dropped by forty-two percent, due to access to healthier foods. The World Health Organization stated if people were to eat 600 grams of fruit a day, the stroke rate would drop by nineteen percent.

This is more good news on top of even better news.

Recently, researchers found seven portions of fruits and vegetables can reduce your risk of death by forty-two percent.

In the same study, the researchers found seven portions of fruits and vegetables to reduce stroke by thirty-one percent.

How many fruits and vegetables have you eaten today?

How To Train with Beet Juice

If you’re training with beet juice for an athletic event or competition, there are three things to keep in mind:

1. Drink Two or Three Hours Before Competition

It takes about two to three hours for the vegetable nitrates to convert into nitric oxide. You'e not going to see instant results.

2. Drink Beet Juice Every Day

Most people are deficient of nitric oxide. This deficiency is caused by the aging process, poor oral health and stress. Red Rush™ infuses your body with nitrates. However, it wears off in about twelve hours. Also, drinking beet juice a single time before a race or competition is not going to help you but so much.

You have to work at maintaining healthy nitric oxide levels every day. Eating leafy greens like spinach or arugula can help do that if you want to save your super-nitrate-charged Red Rush™ for competition and training days. If you want to know your nitric oxide levels, test them with Berkeley Test Strips.

3. Maintain Proper Oral Health

You need the good bacter…

"It even got rid of her headache."

In February 2014, AIM added a new lotion to its line of products, offering a moisturizing way to increase your intake of magnesium.

In a blend of shea butter, coconut oil and jojoba seed oil, topical magnesium is at the heart of Mag-nificence™ lotion, which may be applied to the skin.

No one knows better than Bonnie Cooke, who owns a massage therapy company. Bonnie is thrilled with the introduction of the new lotion. So are her customers:

"My massage clients ask me questions like 'Are you going to put some of that stuff on me today?' and 'Can I buy some?' I answer: Yes! And I think that the lotion is fabulous!

"One of my clients is in her eighties. She has pain all through her body and will only let me touch her as massage alleviates some of the pain. I never do house calls but because of her situation, I made an exception and went to her home to give her a full-body massage using Mag-nificence lotion. It even got rid of her headache. Afterward, she got righ…

Mag-nificence™ - Beneficial for PMS and Menopause

We celebrate, appreciate and recognize women and all the wonderful roles they play and the gifts they give us that make our lives better. Thank you!

Hormonal balance and imbalance can begin to affect women at puberty and continue through menopause. Hormones are your body's chemical messengers; when these messengers are out of balance, so is your body.

A specific class of hormone, estrogen, causes an increase in absorption and use of magnesium. When these estrogen hormones are out of balance, you run the risk of developing a magnesium deficiency, which has been linked to many major diseases and conditions such as heart disease, aging and osteoporosis.

Magnesium levels decrease substantially during menopause. Common menopause symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, vaginal dryness, difficulty focusing, and hair loss are partially a result of magnesium deficiency.

Magnesium can regulate energy levels and body temperature, helping to alleviate those hot flashes and ni…

The AIM Defense Against Arthritis

May is National Arthritis Awareness Month
The pain of arthritis creeps into the lives of far too many North Americans. Although often associated with people of advanced years, arthritis actually affects all age groups.

Statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia indicate:
One in every 250 children in the U.S. has some form of arthritis. Around fifty million adults have some form of arthritis. For the past 15 years, arthritis and other rheumatic conditions have been the most common cause of disability among U.S. adults. Over one hundred conditions or diseases fall under the arthritis umbrella of musculoskeletal disorders. Osteoarthritis is by far the most common. Even though it is called a non-inflammatory condition, osteoarthritis results from the wear and tear of cartilage, causing inflamed joints.

It is safe to say that inflammation is at the painful core of arthritis. AIM defends you to the core with three supplements that target the pain…

The Elderly Need Protein Too

Studies show that although protein is often marketed as a muscle-building supplement to athletes, the elderly need protein too. Most senior citizens are not getting enough protein due to a lack of access or difficulties chewing meat.

This study suggests a thirty-percent increase of dietary protein is needed to balance nitrogen levels, preserve lean muscle mass and maintain regular body functions. The elderly who don't consume enough protein can be at risk of malnutrition.

ProPeas® is non-allergnic, requires no chewing and is easier to digest than other forms of protein, like whey and soy, which can cause digestion difficulties. ProPeas® is an ideal solution for older folks who need more protein.

BarleyLife® for Vital Vitamin K

Getting essential vitamins is one of the many benefits of taking BarleyLife®. Moreover, the vitamins are natural, coming from the juice powder of young barley plants.

One of the vital vitamins in BarleyLife® is K, which gets its name from the Danish and German word, koagulation.

Coagulation is all about the formation of blood clots - a vital process to prevent excessive bleeding. Vitamin K plays a key role in preventing abnormal bleeding by helping to make several proteins required for blood clotting.

Additionally, this vitamin supports bone health and optimal calcium use by your body.

The Healthiest Form

There are two naturally occurring forms: plant-based vitamin K1 and animal-based K2. K1 comes from a green, alkalizing source, such as BarleyLife®. K2 usually comes from acidifying sources, such as cheese, beef, poultry, and organ meats, as well as from synthesis by intestinal bacteria. One of the many great reasons for taking BarleyLife® is its healthy source of vitamin K1.

How To Lower Your Death Risk After A Heart Attack With Fiber

A new study, published in the British Medical Journal, finds a high-fiber diet reduces the overall mortality rate of heart attack survivors by twenty-five percent.

Dietary fiber also lowers the risk of future cardiovascular problems by thirteen percent.

Previous Harvard studies have found a high-fiber diet reduces the risk of coronary heart disease in men by forty percent. They also found cereal fibers, not the fiber from fruits and vegetables, were the ones prolonging the lives of heart attack victims.

Have you had your dietary fiber today?

Do Your Toddlers Get Enough Fiber and Potassium?

A new study suggests that children from the ages of one to three are not getting enough fiber or potassium in their diets

According to the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, the average toddler only eats about 10.4 g out of the suggested 19 g of dietary fiber.

Kids also are consuming only 2051 mg of potassium on average, when they should be getting 3000 mg.

Fiber helps kids feel full as well as avoid things like constipation and type 2 diabetes, while potassium helps with blood pressure and muscle function.

An easy way to make sure children get enough fiber and potassium every day is AIM supplements.
One serving of fit 'n fiber® contains 7g or 28% of the recommended daily intake. A serving of fit ’n fiber® would pretty much put the average child on track to getting their daily fiber, without too much of a change to their regular diet.Beets (RediBeets®) have potassium, with one serving having 442 mg or about 12% of your daily recommended intake.Carrots (Just Carrots®
